Las Vidas Mejoradas is a federally tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization committed to working directly with small communities on various projects of modest scale and large impact. Our goals are healthier lives and environments. We use a holistic approach collaborating with families, communities and sometimes other like-minded non-profit organizations so as to identify needs, a workable plan that shares responsibility, and follow-up, with the mutual goal of changing lives for the better. Delivery is via broad-based methods that include programs in education, health and hygiene, application of micro finance principles to assist in the subsidized purchase of appropriate and sustainable technology, utilization of local labor and materials, and support of other NGO’s in the region. Our projects and collaborations have included, but are not limited to: improved cooking stoves, use of retention cookers, community kitchens. health education, greenhouse construction and restoration, after school programs, school exchanges, direct-to-source craft sales, and charitable assistance.
